Steve (Bubba) Stanley started fly fishing 25 years ago and began tying not long after. Steve spent a summer exploring the waters of the Connecticut Lakes region of Northern New Hampshire while working for Lopstick Lodge. It was during his time in NH that Steve developed his Stanley's Waker Maker that was featured in David Klausmeyer's book 'Guide Flies'. Steve got his big start in the industry by working as a guide at Tikchik Narrows Lodge in Southwest Alaska where he spent 3 years chasing big leopard rainbows. He came back to Vermont and started guiding for Green Mountain Troutfitters. Over the past few years, along with Chris Lynch and Mike Kontos of Green Mountain Troutfitters, Steve has filled many different rolls including Co-owner and Head Counselor of Green Mountain Fly Fishing Camp, put out of series of fly tying videos, and filling the shop's fly bins. Most Recently Steve has been help put on the ever popular Ditch Pickle Classic, a fly only catch and release bass tournament on Lake Champlain.
